Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you work?
I have consulting rooms at the CCPE, Beauchamp Lodge, 2 Warwick Avenue, London W2 6NE. It is close to Paddington station, and Warwick Avenue tube, and convenient for Maida Vale, Kilburn, Westminster, Shepherds Bush, the A40 and West and North London generally. I also have consulting rooms in Kingston Upon Thames.

Do you offer supervision
Yes, I supervise psychotherapists and counsellors. Call me for details if you are interested in this.

Are you in supervision yourself?
Absolutely. It is vital to safe and ethical working for a therapist to be in supervision.

What times are you available?
I have appointments available from 10am until 8pm (last appointment of the day is 8pm), Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Appointments are available in Kingston throughout the week. Saturday sessions are available. Call me for more specific scheduling.

Are you a regulated by a professional body?
Yes. I am UKCP registered, and work within the ethical codes of the BACP.

What experience do you have?
I have been training and working as a psychotherapist since 1999. The qualifications I have are as follows
Diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy (4 year course)
MA Transpersonal Psychotherapy (1 year with research dissertation)
Advanced Diploma Transpersonal Psychotherapy (2 year course)
Diploma in Supervision (1 year course)
Certificate in Spiritual Guidance through Dreamwork (1 year course)

I am a member of the teaching staff at the CCPE, where I work supervising and facilitating diploma and MA students.

Throughout the last 10 years I have been doing one to one work with clients as a counsellor and psychotherapist, covering all issues which are brought in to the therapy.

What is 'integrative' therapy?
It is a way of doing counselling and psychotherapy which brings together many different approaches, and draws on what ever seems right for the particular client at the particular time. My work calls upon many different traditions (both psychological and spiritual) and each person who comes to me gets 'a psychotherapy' tailored to what they need. Integrative counsellors and therapists may use psychodynamic techniques and approaches, humanistic ones, transpersonal ones, cognitive ones - whatever suits the needs of the person who is seeking help.

What is transpersonal therapy?
A form of therapy and counselling where account is taken of levels of consciousness beyond those generally explored in the therapy room. The 'trans' of 'transpersonal' can refer to what is 'beyond' the personal level, or what is 'between' our individual 'personal levels'. It does not much matter how this is defined. What is important is that aspects of the human being which are often discounted are taken in to account in transpersonal work - you might think of this as your spiritual nature, or as the meaningfulness of your life, or as the subtle and very subtle aspects of your being.

Do you have a cancellation charge for missed sessions?
Yes, unless you give me 48 hours notice of missing a session you will have to pay the fee for the missed session.

How often will I need to come to therapy?
It varies. I often work with once a week sessions with people, but sometimes it is helpful to come twice a week for a time and if that is the case we will discuss it and agree what works.
